OSHC Support Worker - Bendigo SDS and Kalianna School Bendigo

We're currently recruiting for our upcoming September School Holiday Program! We're looking for staff with availability from Monday 21 September to Friday 2 October. Full day (between 8am-6pm) and lunch cover (approx. 11am-4pm) shifts are available. After-school work also available before, and after the holiday program.

We have an exciting opportunity for part-time and casual Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) Support Workers to join our innovative high-intensity OSHC program for children with disabilities attending Bendigo Special Developmental SchoolandKalianna School Bendigo.
n
Applicants who hold, or are studying towards, a recognised OSHC or children's services qualification are strongly encouraged to apply — your skills and knowledge are exactly what we're looking for.

Your role at a glance
n
Your role as an OSHC Support Worker is pivotal to the program's success. You will assist to supervise, engage, and provide care for school-age children with disabilities, ensuring their safety and wellbeing. Supporting children in a variety of activities from reading and crafts, to sports and games, every day is different!

- After-school care (Monday-Friday): Directly supervising children from 2:45 pm to 6 pm in a range of fun activities.
n
- School Holiday Care (Monday-Friday): Directly supervising children during the holiday program from 8 am to 6 pm, engaging them in a variety of enjoyable activities, incursions, and excursions.
n

and Sunbury.

Remuneration commencing at SCHADS Level 2 ($36.22 base rate + casual loading). Salary packaging is available for permanent part time staff to reduce the tax you pay and increase your take-home pay (as per PBI status).

The ideal candidate must have:
n

- Passion for child development and education
n
- Experience, study or lived experience in child services, education, or disabilities is desirable
n
- Strong ethics, child safety awareness, and work health and safety knowledge
n
- Adaptability, flexibility, and resilience in the face of change
n
n
Perfect for workers, students and carers with skills in teaching, disability, community services, allied health and early childhood. Applicants with lived experience are also encouraged to apply.

Safeguarding of Children and Young People
n
As a staff member ofLifely'sHigh-Intensity Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) program, you are expected to exemplify leadership and a strong dedication to ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all children and young people in your care. Your key responsibilities include:

- Disclosinganyinformation,you learn during your work that a reasonable person would consider could affect your suitability to work with children and young people.
n

- Acting as a protective figure during allinteractions andtaking proactive steps to prevent any form of abuse or neglect.
n
nn
- Adhering strictly to all policies, procedures, and the code of conduct related to child safeguarding.
n
nn
- Keeping your personal detailsup-to-datewith theappropriate departmentresponsible for working with children checks or their equivalent,in accordance withregulations.
n
nn
- Completing the WorkingWithChildren Check (WWCC)
before starting your role andmaintainingits validity throughout your employment.
n
nn
- Undergoing a National or International Police Check prior to employment, and as required byLifely.
n
nn
- Reporting any concerns, suspicions, allegations, or disclosures of child abuse or neglect promptly, following standard procedures.
n
nn
- Participatingin all mandatory safeguarding training sessions.
n
nn
- Using consistent methods to handle feedback, concerns, or complaints from children, families, and colleagues.
n
nn
- Ensuring that new program ideas involve consultation with children and young people, using approved practices and resources.
n
nn
- Staying informed about policies and procedures related to the protection of children and young people.
n
nn
- Attending anyadditionaltraining related to safeguarding, as required by your role.
n
nn
- Promoting a culture of cultural safety and inclusion for children and young people from diversebackgrounds,includingCALD communities, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, LGBTQIA+ communities, and those with disabilities.
n
n
You must be willing to provide the following prior to starting work:

- NDIS Worker Screening Check
n
- Working with Children Check
n
- First Aid and CPR Certificates
n
- NDIS Orientation Certificate
n
- Mandatory Reporting Certificate
n
- Foundations of Child Safety Training
n
- Current Vaccination Certificate
n
- Proof of Right to work in Australia
n
- Desired - Completed or working towards an Approved ACECQA Qualification
n
n
