We're looking for an experienced Assistant Manager / Bar Manager to join the team at Clarence.

n

This is a hands-on role for someone who genuinely enjoys being on the floor, understands positive hospitality and wants to take ownership of the day-to-day running of a busy restaurant.

n

Working closely with our Restaurant Manager, you'll help lead the FOH team while taking particular responsibility for the bar, cocktails and beverage service.

n

The Role

n

Your key responsibilities will include:

n

n
- Leading the FOH team through service and helping maintain a warm, professional and relaxed style of hospitality
n
- Running services and taking ownership of the restaurant in the Restaurant Manager's absence
n
- Supporting, training and developing the FOH team
n
- Taking ownership of the bar and day-to-day beverage operations
n
- Maintaining and developing our cocktail offering
n
- Ensuring drinks are consistently prepared and presented to a high standard
n
- Managing bar ordering, stock levels, prep and organisation
n
- Working with management to maintain appropriate beverage COGS and minimise wastage
n
- Maintaining strong product knowledge across cocktails, spirits, beer and wine
n




- Working closely with our Restaurant Manager and Wine Manager on the broader beverage offering
n
- Managing bookings, sections and service flow
n
- Building relationships with regulars and ensuring guests are genuinely looked after
n
- Supporting opening and closing procedures, cash-up and daily reporting
n
- Maintaining RSA, liquor licensing and FOH compliance standards
n
- Helping create a positive, professional and accountable team culture
n
- Working closely with the kitchen and management team to continually improve the restaurant
n

About You

n

We're looking for someone who:

n

n
- Has previous restaurant management or senior supervisory experience
n
- Has strong bar and cocktail knowledge
n
- Is confident leading a busy restaurant service
n
- Is organised, reliable and comfortable taking responsibility
n
- Enjoys training and developing younger team members
n
- Has a genuine interest in food, wine and hospitality
n
- Understands that great service can be knowledgeable and professional without being formal
n
- Wants to be part of a small, ambitious restaurant team and grow with the business
n

This would suit someone currently working as an Assistant Manager, Bar Manager or experienced Supervisor looking for greater responsibility.
