The Role:
n
As aLeakage Technician, you'll play a vital role in helping to reduce water loss across the network by identifying, locating and
n
supporting the repair of leaks. Working across a designated area, you'll use specialist detection equipment and network data to
n
investigate leakage issues, support DMA performance, and contribute to the efficient operation of the water distribution system.
n
This is a hands‐on, field‐based role that combines technical problem‐solving, network investigation and operational support.
n
You'll work independently and alongside colleagues to ensure accurate leak identification, maintain network integrity, and help
n
deliver a reliable service to customers. The role includes a mixture of day and night working to support operational requirements.
n
Please note that this is a field based role.
n
Key Responsibilities:
n
n
- Detect and accurately locate leaks using a range of acoustic detection techniques, correlators, loggers and associated equipment.
n
- Investigate points of interest identified through acoustic logger surveys,
satellite surveys and other leakage monitoring methods.
n
- Carry out leakage investigations within District Metered Areas (DMAs), including step testing, basic valve operations and network analysis activities.
n
- Undertake flow and pressure logging activities, including equipment installation, retrieval and data analysis.
n
- Perform pipe tracing and site investigations to identify underground assets and support leakage resolution.
n
- Conduct DMA boundary valve integrity checks and Pressure Zero Test activities to assess network performance.
n
- Support repair teams through accurate leak mark‐outs and dry excavation activities where required.
n
- Complete customer and company work requests, maintaining accurate records of investigations and findings.
n
- Identify and report network anomalies, GIS updates and previously unidentified customer usage.
n
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with company procedures, health and safety requirements, and relevant legislation.
n

What You'll Need:
n
n
- Full UK Driving Licence (Essential).
n
- National Water Hygiene Card.
n
- Experience of network valve operations and water distribution systems.
n
- Competent in the use of leakage detection equipment and associated technology.
n
- Strong communication, reporting and problem‐solving skills.
n
- Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively.
n
