We are seeking a Leisure & Lifestyle Assistant to work in a part time (64 hours/fortnight) capacity based at Iona Digby Harris Home Nhill.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

n

- To provide a Leisure and Lifestyle Program for Residential Aged Care residents, on both a group and individual basis.
n
- Must consider resident likes, preferences, existing community, and family involvement.
n

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA:

n

Essential :

n

n
- Effective communication and organisational skills.
n
- Have a explicit understanding of the Aged Care Standards pertaining to residents Leisure and Lifestyle.
n
- Have efficient time management skills devoted to resident's personal lifestyle programs, outings, required documentation and planning.
n

n

Desirable :

n

n
- Qualification in Certificate III Individual Support or equivalent field.
n
- Previous experience working in Leisure and Lifestyle Assistant position or field.
n
- Competence in using computer programs including Microsoft Word, Outlook and electronic resident documentation system and other databases.
n




- Demonstrate flexibility to manage a diverse caseload.
n

PRE-REQUISITES:

n

n
- NDIS Worker Screening Clearance.
n
- Working with Children Check.
n
- Fully vaccinated (including influenza) as per current Department of Health Directives.
n
- Australian Driver's Licence.
n

n

KEY RESPONSBILITIES:

n

n
- Work within a multi-disciplinary team and consult with nursing staff and Allied Health staff regarding appropriate activities for individual residents.
n
- Maintain accurate records, appropriate documentation and statistics relevant to the Leisure and Lifestyle Program.
n
- Liaise with, and coordinate support from nursing and other staff, in enabling residents to attend and participate in Leisure and Lifestyle programs.
n
- Report any concerns regarding the welfare and deviation of health status of any resident to the Nurse Unit Manager or delegate.
