Leading Hand Carpenter / Maintenance Supervisor – Flexible Casual Role

Mamba Constructions is looking for a practical, hands-on and reliable Leading Hand Carpenter / Site Supervisor to assist with residential maintenance works while also helping supervise and manage renovation and extension projects.

n

This is a hybrid hands-on and supervisory role. You will be expected to complete maintenance and smaller building works yourself, while taking responsibility for coordinating trades, monitoring quality and helping run larger projects.

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance & Hands-On Works

n

n
- Complete general residential maintenance and building repairs
n
- Install and repair doors, locks and hardware
n
- Patch and repair Gyprock walls and ceilings
n
- Complete basic carpentry and general building works
n
- Repair fencing, gates and external items
n
- Install fixtures and fittings
n
- Pick up, organise and manage materials
n
- Attend inspections, take measurements, photos and site records
n

Renovations & Extensions

n

n
- Assist with supervising and managing renovation and extension projects
n
- Coordinate subcontractors and trades on site
n
- Organise materials, deliveries and site requirements
n
- Monitor workmanship, quality and progress
n
- Identify site issues early and help develop practical solutions
n
- Ensure works are completed in the correct sequence
n
- Communicate site progress,



issues and requirements back to management
n
- Maintain a clean, organised and professional site
n
- Assist with keeping projects on programme
n

Who We're Looking For

- Has solid construction, carpentry or building experience
n
- Is comfortable working on the tools when required
n
- Can independently complete maintenance and repair jobs
n
- Has experience coordinating or supervising trades
n
- Takes pride in workmanship and quality
n
- Thinks ahead and solves practical site problems
n
- Communicates professionally with clients, trades and suppliers
n
- Knows when specialist advice is required
n
- Is reliable, organised and takes ownership of their work
n
- Has reliable transport, suitable tools and relevant licences/qualifications where applicable
n

You don't need to know how to do everything. What's important is being practical, dependable, willing to learn and capable of taking responsibility for getting work completed properly.

Mamba Constructions is growing its renovation, extension and recent-home project pipeline. For the right person, this role has the opportunity to develop into greater responsibility managing construction projects.

n

Casual – approximately 18–24 hours per week initially, with the potential for increased hours and responsibility as the company grows.

n

Paid practical trial required.
