Are you an experienced aquatic skilled who enjoys leading teams, maintaining high safety standards and delivering excellent customer service?
n
Hepburn Shire Council is seeking a Team Leader Aquatics to support the day-to-day operations of our seasonal outdoor pools. In this hands-on leadership role, you'll oversee aquatic staff, ensure facilities operate safely and efficiently, and help create positive experiences for residents and visitors throughout the summer season.

Position Details

- Seasonal Fixed Term, Part Time (0.53 FTE)
n
- Band 5: $36.67 - $42.27 per hour, plus superannuation
n
- Anticipated roster pattern: Sunday to Wednesday
n
- Location: Pools across Hepburn Shire
n
- Reports to the Aquatics Officer
n

How you'll make a difference
n
You'll support our community by:
n
n
- Leading and supporting rostered aquatic team members.
n
- Overseeing the day-to-day operation of Council's aquatic facilities.
n
- Conducting water testing, risk assessments and operational inspections.
n
- Coordinating maintenance activities and liaising with contractors as required.
n
- Ensuring compliance with industry standards, legislation and Council procedures.
n
- Supporting emergency response readiness and safe operating practices.
n
- Maintaining clean, safe and welcoming aquatic facilities.
n
- Delivering exceptional customer service to patrons and user groups.
n
n
About you
n
You'll bring experience working in an aquatic facility, leisure centre or similar recreation environment, along with the ability to lead and support staff in a safety-focused setting.
n
You'll also have:
n
n
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
n
- Experience supervising or mentoring staff.
n
- Sound administration and organisational skills.
n
- The ability to assess situations and respond appropriately.
n
- A positive and flexible approach to working independently and as part of a team.
n

Essential requirements
n
n
- Current Pool Lifeguard qualification/accreditation
n
- Current Level 2 First Aid Certificate
n
- Pool Operators Certificate (or equivalent)
n
- Current Australian Driver Licence
n
- Current Employee Working with Children Check
n
- National Criminal History Check
n
n
