Sydney Aboriginal Family Support Service (SAFSS) is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation dedicated to providing culturally safe, respectful and high-quality supports to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, young people, families and NDIS participants across Sydney and surrounding areas.

We are growing our NDIS services and are seeking a compassionate, reliable and motivated NDIS Support Workerto join our team.

We are growing our NDIS services and are seeking a compassionate, reliable and motivated NDIS Support Workerto join our team.
n
About the Role
n
As an NDIS Support Worker, you will work directly with participants and their families to support them in achieving their individual goals while promoting independence, inclusion and wellbeing.
n
Your duties may include:
n
n
- Providing one-on-one support to NDIS participants in their home and community.
n
- Assisting participants to access community activities, appointments and services.
n
- Supporting the development of daily living and independent living skills.
n
- Providing transport to appointments, education, cultural activities and community events.
n
- Encouraging social participation and meaningful community engagement.
n
- Maintaining accurate case notes and documentation.
n
- Working collaboratively with families, service providers and the SAFSS team.
n
- Providing culturally safe and trauma-informed support.
n
n
About You
n
We are looking for someone who is:
n
n
- Passionate about supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and communities.
n
- Reliable, respectful and able to build positive relationships with participants and families.
n
- Patient, compassionate and able to work independently.
n
- A strong communicator with good organisational skills.
n
- Flexible and willing to work a variety of shifts.
n
n
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are strongly encouraged to apply.
n
Essential Requirements
n
n
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain).
n
- Current Working with Children Check (NSW).
n
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
n
- Current unrestricted NSW Driver Licence.
n
- Access to a reliable and insured vehicle.
n
- Right to work in Australia.
n
n
Desirable
n
n
- Previous experience working with NDIS participants.
n
- Experience supporting children and young people with Autism, ADHD, intellectual disability or developmental delay.
n
- Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Community Services, Disability or a related qualification.
n
- Knowledge of Aboriginal culture and communities.
n
n
