About the Role
n
This position is ideal for an early-career Electrical Engineer or Technical Support Engineer who is passionate about renewable energy and battery storage.
n
You will work alongside experienced engineers supporting residential and commercial BESS projects across Australia, gaining practical experience in commissioning, technical support, product validation, troubleshooting and customer support.
n
This role provides excellent exposure to real-world Battery Energy Storage Systems while offering clear opportunities for technical and career development.
n
Key Responsibilities
n
Technical Support & Commissioning
n
n
- Assist with remote and on-site technical support for residential and commercial Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).
n
- Support system commissioning, configuration,
firmware upgrades and diagnostics.
n
- Assist in troubleshooting battery systems, BMS, inverters, PCS and communication interfaces (CAN, RS485 and Modbus).
n
- Escalate complex technical issues to senior engineers and support follow-up investigations.
n
n
Product Support & Engineering
n
n
- Assist with product testing, validation and New Product Introduction (NPI) activities.
n
- Support engineering investigations and continuous product improvement.
n
- Prepare technical reports, commissioning records and engineering documentation.
n
- Assist in developing installation guides, technical manuals and troubleshooting materials.
n
n
Customer & Installer Support
n
n
- Provide technical assistance to installers, distributors and EPC partners.
n
- Support customer enquiries and participate in technical training sessions.
n
- Assist with warranty investigations, product performance assessments and RMA support where required.
n
n
Compliance & Safety
n
n
- Ensure engineering activities comply with Australian standards and company procedures.
n
- Maintain awareness of AS/NZS 3000, AS/NZS 4777, AS/NZS 5139 and other relevant standards.
n
- Participate in product compliance testing and certification activities.
n
- Follow Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) requirements during office and field work.
n
n
Future Product Development
n
n
- Develop knowledge of Aeson's expanding battery product portfolio, including sodium-ion technologies and future automotive lithium battery products.
n
- Work closely with senior engineers and global R&D; teams to support new product development for the Australian market.
n
n
Skills & Experience
n
Essential
n
n
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, Power Electronics or a related discipline.
n
- Graduate to approximately 2 years of relevant industry experience.
n
- Strong interest in Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), renewable energy or power electronics.
n
- Basic understanding of electrical systems, battery technologies and inverter systems.
n
- Ability to read electrical schematics, SLDs and technical drawings.
n
- Good analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
n
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
n
- Australian working rights.
n
n
Highly Regarded
n
n
- Experience with residential or commercial solar and battery systems.
n
- Knowledge of Australian electrical standards and grid connection requirements.
n
- Experience with BESS commissioning or technical support.
n
- Familiarity with Victron, Deye, SMA, Growatt, Fronius or similar inverter platforms.
n
- Mandarin language skills.
n
- White Card or relevant electrical safety training.
n
n
