About the position
n
The District Nurses (TDN) is a long-standing Tasmanian not-for-profit organisation dedicated to helping people age and live well in their own homes for as long as possible.
n
We're seeking compassionate Domestic Assistants to join our southern region team on apermanent part-timebasis.
n
As a Domestic Assistant, you will:
n
n
- Perform general household tasks including cleaning, dusting, vacuuming, and mopping
n
- Support clients with washing, drying, ironing, and folding clothes and linen
n
- Assist with meal preparation and light kitchen duties
n
- Complete unaccompanied grocery shopping and other appropriate errands as needed
n
- Ensure the home environment is safe and report any concerns
n
- Provide friendly companionship and conversation to reduce isolation and build positive connections
n
n
Desired Skills and Experience
n
About you
n
You don't need previous support work experience; we'll provide full training. Prior cleaning experience will be highly regarded.
n
We're seeking someone who is:
n
n
- Passionate about client service
n
- Committed to empowering clients' choice, dignity, and independence
n
- Able to work autonomously and responsibly
n
- Comfortable using basic technology (e.g. smartphone or tablet use)
n
- Physically capable of performing the role
n
- An effective communicator with robust interpersonal skills
n
n
Essential Requirements to be provided:
n
n
- A valid unrestricted driver's licence and access to a registered, insured and roadworthy vehicle
n
- National Police Check
n
- Working with Vulnerable People (Employee) Check with NDIS endorsement
n
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificate
n
n
