Cullen & Co is a small, growing occupational therapy practice based in Newcastle. We work predominantly with people with disabilities and psychosocial disabilities through the NDIS, with a strong focus on mental health, functional capacity, independence and meaningful participation.
n
We're looking for a full-time Occupational Therapist to join our team.
n
And honestly, we're more interested in who you are and how you think than whether you have every skill already.
n
What we're looking for
n
You might be an experienced OT looking for a team where you can actually enjoy coming to work.
n
Or you might be a new graduate who is keen to learn, ask questions and throw yourself into the world of OT.
n
Either way, we're looking for someone who:
n
n
- genuinely cares about their clients and wants to make a difference
n
- has an interest in mental health and/or disability
n
- is curious and willing to learn
n
- takes initiative rather than waiting to be told what to do
n
- is comfortable asking questions when they don't know something
n
- can think outside the box and problem solve
n
- wants to develop their clinical skills and confidence
n
- is happy to have a laugh and contribute to a team
n
- can have a bit of banter, while still knowing when the work gets serious
n
- values good clinical practice and doing things properly
n
- wants to work somewhere they can actually have a voice
n
n
What you'll be doing
n
Your days won't all look the same.
n
You might be completing a Functional Capacity Assessment one day, working alongside a client to build their independence the next, problem-solving an environmental barrier,
prescribing equipment, developing practical strategies for daily living or supporting someone experiencing significant mental health challenges.
n
We don't expect you to know everything.
n
We do expect you to be willing to learn.
n
What you can expect from us
n
We're a small team, which means you won't disappear into a giant organisation where you're just another number.
n
You'll have:
n
n
- genuine clinical support and supervision
n
- opportunities to learn from experienced clinicians
n
- exposure to a broad range of clients and clinical presentations
n
- support to develop your areas of interest
n
- a team that actually talks to each other
n
- a workplace where asking for help is encouraged
n
- plenty of laughs
n
- autonomy and trust to manage your own clinical work
n
- opportunities to contribute ideas and improve how we do things
n
- early knock off on Fridays
n
n
We're big believers that being a positive clinician doesn't mean knowing everything.
n
It means being curious, reflective, willing to learn and genuinely invested in your clients.
n
If you're a new graduate and reading this thinking "I don't know if I'm experienced enough" — please don't count yourself out.
n
We're happy to support the right person to develop their clinical skills and confidence.
n
We'd much rather have someone who asks, "How can I do this better?" than someone who thinks they already know everything.
n
If you're looking for a workplace where you can do meaningful work, keep learning, have some fun and be part of a genuinely supportive team, we'd love to hear from you.
