The Commercial Hotel in Camperdown is a cornerstone of the town — blending history, community and modern hospitality. With a newly renovated bistro and a strong local following, this is a venue where relationships matter just as much as results.

We're looking for a hands‐on Venue Manager who will embrace the spirit of the hotel, connect with the locals and lead from the front.

A team of approximately 20 staff

This is a true all-rounder role, offering variety across food & beverage, gaming, functions and accommodation.

About the Role

n

You'll be responsible for the overall day‐to‐day operations of the venue, ensuring solid performance while maintaining a welcoming, community-driven atmosphere.

Key responsibilities

n

n
- Leading and developing a team of approximately 20 staff
n
- Driving service standards across all areas of the venue
n
- Managing rostering, labour costs and day‐to‐day operations
n
- Overseeing gaming operations and compliance
n
- Supporting accommodation operations and online booking systems
n
- Coordinating functions and events
n




- Building strong relationships with locals and becoming a visible presence in the community
n
- Maintaining compliance across liquor and gaming regulations
n
- Upholding the character, history and reputation of the venue
n

What We're Looking For

n

- Proven experience in hospitality management
n
- A hands‐on leadership style with strong people skills
n
- A genuine passion for regional hospitality and community engagement
n
- Ability to manage a multi‐faced venue
n
- Understanding of accommodation booking systems
n
- Solid knowledge of gaming and liquor compliance
n
- Someone who will embrace the town, support local initiatives and become part of the community
n

Essential / Preferred Qualifications

- RSA
n
- Victorian Gaming Licence
n
- RSG Module 1 & 2
n
- Candidates still working towards these certifications are encouraged to apply.
