Job Description

Muree Golf Club is looking for an experienced, reliable and hands-on Bar Manager to join our team.

n

We're looking for someone who is happy to jump behind the bar, lead the team on shift and take ownership of the day-to-day running of our bar.

n

Reporting to the General Manager, you'll be responsible for keeping the bar running smoothly, supporting our staff and delivering friendly, consistent service to our members and guests.

n

This is a hands‐on role, and regular night and weekend work forms part of the position.

n

What you'll be doing

n

n
- Leading, supporting and developing our bar team, including rostering, training and day-to-day supervision
n
- Managing bar and cellar operations, including ordering, deliveries, stocktakes, stock rotation, wastage and stock control
n
- Monitoring bar sales, gross profit, wage costs and agreed KPIs, while identifying opportunities to improve performance
n
- Overseeing day‐to‐day gaming operations, including poker machines, Keno and TAB
n
- Ensuring RSA, RCG, liquor and gaming requirements are followed
n
- Managing tills, floats, POS accuracy, cash reconciliations and end‐of‐shift procedures
n
- Opening and closing the Club when required
n
- Maintaining high standards of customer service, cleanliness and presentation across the bar and cellar areas
n
- Handling member and customer enquiries and confidently de‐escalating difficult situations when required
n
- Helping with bar promotions, raffles, functions and Club events
n
- Working closely with the General Manager to continually improve the bar operation
n

What we're looking for

n





We're looking for someone who is reliable, organised and confident leading a team, but who also enjoys being part of the day-to-day action.

n

n
- Previous experience in a Bar Manager, Duty Manager or senior hospitality role
n
- Gaming experience, including poker machines, Keno and TAB – essential
n
- Current RSA and RCG
n
- Advanced RCG (ARCG), or the ability to obtain it
n
- Experience in a licensed club workplace – highly regarded
n
- Good knowledge of cellar operations, stock control, gross profit and KPIs
n
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the confidence to support staff, deal professionally with customers and remain calm and controlled when handling difficult or confrontational situations.
n
- Good cash handling, reconciliation and organisational skills
n
- Availability to work regular nights and weekends
n
- An interest in golf or the club industry would be an advantage
n
