We are representing a highly respected not-for-profit, religious-based organisation seeking an experienced Operations Manager – Early Years to oversee the day-to-day operations of a well-established 53-place Early Learning Centre in North Sydney.
This is a unique opportunity for an experienced operational leader to join a stable and highly cohesive team. The service has achieved Exceeding ratings on two occasions and has a strong reputation for quality, inclusion and community connection.
The centre provides long day care for children aged approximately two months to five years, including an eight-place nursery. The service has a highly experienced Educational Leader who has been with the organisation for 15 years, a full-time administrator, dedicated educators and a part-time cook.
This role is ideally suited to someone with strong operational management experience. While Early Childhood experience is advantageous, a childcare background is not essential for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day operational management of the Early Learning Centre
- Support and lead a diverse team of approximately 19 employees across educators, ECTs, administration, educational leadership and kitchen staff
- Work closely with the Educational Leader to support quality outcomes
- Manage inclusion support and ensure children and families receive appropriate assistance
- Build strong and positive relationships with families and the broader community
- Review, develop and implement policies and procedures
- Maintain compliance and ensure systems and processes remain up to date
- Oversee payroll and key administrative functions
- Support staffing and operational requirements
- Work collaboratively with educators and leadership to maintain a positive team culture
- Drive continuous improvement across the service
- Ensure a smooth transition and effective implementation of established systems and processes
What You'll Need
- Demonstrated experience in an operational management role
- Robust people leadership and communication skills
- Excellent organisational and administrative capabilities
- Experience managing teams and operational processes
- Confidence working with policies, procedures and compliance requirements
- Strong relationship-building skills with families, employees and stakeholders
- A collaborative and solutions-focused leadership style
- Early Childhood experience is advantageous but not essential
- Relevant qualifications will be highly regarded
