Bendigo Metals / Hartway Galvanizers is seeking a skilled Metal Fabricator/Welder/Fixed Plant Maintenance Technician to join our team in Canning Vale, WA. This is a full time position that combines metalworking expertise with maintenance responsibilities to support our manufacturing and galvanising operations. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality of our fabricated products and the reliability of our production equipment, contributing directly to the success and efficiency of our business.
Key responsibilities
- General metal fabrication and structural steel work
- Mig welding
- Fabrication and repair of plant and equipment.
- Fault finding and preventative maintenance
- Strong understanding of technical drawings.
- Using workshop machinery and hand tools
- Follow all health and safety protocols and workplace procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production deadlines and quality targets
- Keep work areas clean and organised, adhering to housekeeping standards
What we're looking for
- Proven experience as a welder / metal fabricator
- Experience with fixed plant maintenance
- Demonstrated competency in MIG welding
- Ability to read and interpret drawings
- Good mechanical attitude and problem-solving skills
- A strong commitment to workplace health and safety
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Good communication skills and teamwork skills
- Ability to work accurately to specifications and maintain high-quality standards
- A reliable and positive attitude
