We’re currently looking for an experienced Leading Hand Diesel Fitter to join our Fleet Services Workshop in Nambour.

The Role

Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor, you’ll provide hands-on leadership to our workshop maintenance team while continuing to carry out mechanical maintenance, repairs and diagnostics across our fleet.

This is a Monday to Friday role, offering a great opportunity for an experienced Diesel Fitter looking to step into or continue in a leading hand position in a workshop environment.

About You

- Trade qualified Diesel Fitter / Heavy Vehicle Mechanic / Plant Mechanic
- Previous Leading Hand or senior trades experience
- Robust heavy mobile equipment maintenance experience
- Ability to lead, support and coordinate a team of tradespeople
- Strong focus on safety, quality and workmanship
- Good communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of workshop activities





Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support the workshop maintenance team
- Carry out servicing, repairs, diagnostics and preventative maintenance
- Allocate and coordinate daily workshop tasks
- Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard
- Identify and resolve mechanical issues across the fleet
- Support maintenance planning, parts requirements and job prioritisation
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and ensure compliance with company procedures
- Provide guidance and mentoring to apprentices and less experienced tradespeople
