About the Role

Working closely with our accountants and management team, your responsibilities will include:

· Preparing individual, sole trader, company, trust and partnership tax returns;

· Preparing financial statements and supporting workpapers;

· Preparing and reviewing BAS and IAS;

· Completing tax reconciliations and general compliance work;

· Reviewing client data and reconciliations in Xero;

· Using Xero Tax and Xero Practice Manager;

· Using ATO Online services for agents and other relevant government portals;

· Communicating directly with clients by telephone and email to obtain information and resolve queries; and

· Supporting senior accountants and management with general client matters.

About You

To be considered for this position, you must have:

· At least 1-2 years of Australian public practice accounting experience;

· A completed accounting degree or equivalent qualification;

· Commenced the CPA Program, or have a genuine intention to commence and complete the CPA Program;

· Experience using Xero Tax and Xero accounting software;

· Familiarity with Xero Practice Manager or similar practice-management software;

· Experience with Payroll ,STP and Superannuation

· Experience using ATO Online services for agents and relevant government portals;

· A sound understanding of Australian taxation, GST and compliance requirements;

· Excellent professional written and verbal English communication skills;

· Confidence communicating with clients by telephone and email;

· Exceptional attention to detail and a high standard of accuracy;

· Strong organisational and time-management skills;

· The ability to manage deadlines and competing priorities; and

· The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a small team.

Experience with ASIC compliance, and other accounting software will be highly regarded.





As a boutique practice, communication, reliability and attention to detail are essential. The successful candidate must be comfortable building client relationships and working closely with management and other team members.
