The Science Faculty at St Patrick's College strives to develop students' knowledge, understanding and skills to explain and make sense of the biological, chemical, physical and technological world.

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Science Teacher to teach Stage 4 to Stage 6 Science. This is a Permanent Full-Time position commencing 27 January 2027.

The successful applicant will be committed to excellence in teaching and learning, have strong curriculum knowledge and contribute positively to a collaborative and high-performing faculty. They will support students to develop scientific understanding, critical thinking and practical skills while fostering curiosity about the world around them.

The Science Teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and learning programs across Stage 4 to Stage 6 Science.

Working collaboratively with colleagues, the successful applicant will contribute to curriculum planning, assessment, student achievement and the broader co-curricular life of the College. The role requires a commitment to evidence-informed practice, effective classroom management and continuous professional growth.

The successful applicant will demonstrate:

- A working understanding of, and commitment to, the Catholic ethos of a School in the Edmund Rice tradition.
- Demonstrated understanding of appropriate behaviours and professional boundaries that reflect child safeguarding values in practice.
- NESA Accreditation and approval to teach in NSW.
- Qualifications and experience teaching Science across Stages 4-6.
- Commitment to excellence as a classroom practitioner.
- Effective classroom management through clear expectations, proactive behaviour strategies and positive student relationships.
- Strong knowledge of the Stage 4-6 Science curriculum and contemporary teaching and learning practices.
- The ability to differentiate learning to meet a diverse range of student needs.
- The effective integration of ICT into teaching, learning and assessment.




- A commitment to evidence-informed practice and continuous improvement.
- Exceptional communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to build positive relationships with students, staff and families.
- A willingness to contribute to the co-curricular life of the College.

Highly Desirable

- Experience teaching Stage 6 Science courses.
- Experience using student achievement data to inform teaching and learning programs.
- Experience contributing to curriculum development and faculty improvement initiatives.
- The capacity to teach senior Science disciplines such as Biology, Chemistry or Physics.
