Medical receptionist (Maternity Leave Cover – 12 Month Contract)

About the Role

We're looking for an experienced and motivated Medical receptionist to join our growing specialist medical practice on a 12 month maternity leave contract, with a potential to work casual afterwards as sick or holiday relief or potentially part-time.

This is a full time Monday to Friday position with no weekend work, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.

Key Responsibilities

- Oversee the day-to-day operations in the clinic.

- Answering and managing incoming calls, greeting patients, booking appointments, attending to patient enquiries and general administrative duties.

- Ensure exceptional patient service and efficient clinic workflows.

- Exceptional communication ability with a high attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.

- Listening to dictations and transcribing doctor’s correspondence letters.

- Manage practice facilities, equipment and resources.

- Oversee billing, invoicing, banking and accounts processes.

- Ensure accurate Medicare,



Workers Compensation and private billing.

About You

To be successful in this role, you'll have:

- Previous experience as a medical receptionist.

- Excellent organisational and time management abilities.

- Experience within a specialist medical practice or healthcare environment.

- Outstanding communication and problem-solving skills.

- The ability to work independently and effectively manage competing priorities.

- A professional, patient-focused approach and commitment to high-quality service.

- Experience with medical software program Genie would be an advantage.

- Would be an advantage if you have dictation/transcription experience.
