Furnace Solutions is seeking an experienced Contract HSER Advisor to support our upcoming Project in Mexico commencing late September/early October 2026.

This is a short-term international project role, working the night shift for approximately 35 days, with a 25% night-shift loading applied. The role will suit a practical, field-focused HSER skilled with experience supporting high-risk work in mining, construction, processing, shutdown, maintenance or heavy industrial environments.

About the Role

The HSER Advisor will provide day-to-day field support to ensure Furnace Solutions personnel are working safely and in accordance with Furnace Solutions’ HSER Management System, client site requirements and project-specific controls.

You will work closely with the Project Manager, HSER Superintendent, Supervisors, workers, client representatives and local support providers to verify controls,



support safe work execution and maintain accurate HSER records.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide visible field-based HSER support across night shift activities.

- Support Supervisors with shift overviews, toolbox talks, JSAs, Take 5s, permits and critical-risk controls.

- Conduct field observations, work area inspections and high-risk work verifications.

- Verify critical controls for activities such as confined space, working at height, stored energy, lifting, mobile plant, hot work and demolition-related tasks.

- Support safe execution of refractory demolition, mechanical, mobile plant and shutdown-related work activities.

- Conduct BAC testing and support random drug screening requirements in accordance with project procedures.

- Monitor fitness-for-work, fatigue, heat stress and journey management controls.

- Support incident response, hazard reporting, investigation activities and corrective-action close-out.

- Maintain accurate HSER records using PeopleTray and any required client systems.

- Assist with induction, training, VOC, licence and competency compliance checks.

- Participate in client inspections, audits, meetings and emergency-response activities as required.





- Promote practical safety leadership and exercise Stop Work Authority where uncontrolled risk is identified.

Mandatory Requirements

- Minimum Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety.

- Enter and Work in Confined Spaces.

- Work Safely at Heights.

- White Card.

- Current passport with ability to travel internationally.

- Must hold, or be eligible to obtain, a valid ESTA for travel/transit through the United States.

- Ability to satisfy client site-access, medical and fitness-for-work requirements prior to mobilisation.

- Experience in mining, construction, processing, shutdown, maintenance or heavy industrial project environments.

- Demonstrated experience supporting high-risk work activities.

- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with Supervisors and frontline workers.

- Ability to work night shift for the full project duration.

- Sound computer literacy and ability to maintain accurate digital HSER records.

Highly Regarded

- Previous international project or expatriate work experience.

- Experience working in Mexico, South America or with Spanish-speaking workforces.

- Mining, smelting, processing plant or shutdown experience.

- Incident investigation experience, including ICAM, 5 Whys or similar.

- Working knowledge of confined space, working at heights, isolation, lifting, mobile plant and hot work controls.

- Drug and alcohol testing experience.

- Spanish language skills, or previous experience working through interpreters.
