Private Nurse

We are looking for a caring and attentive nurse with excellent communication skills to provide nursing care and household support for an older private client. The nurse will be required to work full-time hours with some flexibility. At present, there is little personal care required. The nurse's primary function will be to maintain the client's independence for as long as possible through proactive care and advocacy.

Key Responsibilities

- Nursing Support: Deliver daily nursing care, including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and responding promptly to health needs or emergencies.

- A minimum of 5 years nursing experience is required for this position.

- Medication Management: Oversee and document all medication administration, ensuring accuracy and compliance with medical instructions.

- Medical Appointments: Schedule, manage and accompany the client to all medical, physiotherapy, and massage appointments; communicate with healthcare professionals and relay relevant information.

- Exercise Assistance: Support and motivate the client in following prescribed exercise and rehabilitation programs.

- Transportation: Provide or arrange safe and reliable transportation for appointments, errands, and social engagements as required.

- Household Management: Manage household and personal staff. Includes scheduling of housekeepers/carers, cleaning and personal appointments to maintain a comfortable and organized living workplace.

- Wellbeing Advocacy: Monitor and promote the client's overall wellbeing, proactively identifying and addressing any changes in health or mood.

Experience & Skills





- Demonstrated maturity, flexibility, and professionalism in both appearance and conduct.

- Proven reliability and honesty, with the ability to adapt to changing circumstances and needs.

- Experience managing staff

- Valid Australian Driver's License and access to a reliable vehicle.

- Current First Aid and CPR certifications.

- Experience or knowledge in disability care (highly desirable).

- Certification in medication assistance (or willingness to obtain).

- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.

- Strong organizational and time management abilities.

- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion at all times.

- Working with Vulnerable People check is required before commencement.

Additional Requirements

- Flexibility to work varying hours, including weekends or evenings as needed.

- Either Enrolled Nurse (EN) or Registered Nurse (RN) qualification is required.

- Current AHPRA registration is required.
