Statewide Relief Teachers cover vacancies of 5 to 19 working days anywhere in the state. Statewide PRTs receive a 17.5% loading on their salary.

This role involves working across schools within the Anangu Lands region and surrounding areas, including primary, secondary (R-12), and Special Education settings, to provide coverage for short-term teacher absences. On occasion, appointments may be extended if other staffing options are unavailable.

Working alongside experienced Anangu Educators and colleagues, you will contribute to the design and delivery of high-quality bilingual learning programs that connect language, culture, Country and the Australian Curriculum. Experience in this is not necessary but a willingness to learn is.

- Work within a supportive and highly team-oriented curriculum team.

- Play an active role in implementing bilingual education policy.

- Access unique professional learning in bilingual education, EALD pedagogy, Learning on Country and culturally responsive teaching.

- Teach small classes and build strong relationships with students and families.





- Focus on teaching instead of behaviour management in a small class with constant support from Anangu educators.

- Develop skills in curriculum design, assessment and innovative teaching approaches.

- Live in a welcoming community surrounded by spectacular desert landscapes.

- Partner employment opportunities may be available through School Support Officer positions.

- Access to a government car is provided for this position.

- Approx $20,000/year in Country Zone and Locality Allowances.

- Special Class Allowance (approx. $1,600 pa).

- 100% subsidised accommodation including all utilities (accommodation may be shared).

- Removal and relocation expenses.

- Travel and accommodation costs for medical and dental treatment.

To ensure employer compliance of duty of care responsibilities given the unique environment of the APY Lands, a wellness check will be conducted for any teacher nominated for this position and prior to any offer of employment.

- Relevant teaching qualification and registration with the Teachers Registration Board of South Australia.

- Demonstrated ability to create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.

- Strong communication and relationship-building skills with students, families and colleagues.
