Operations Manager

The Chance
We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead and develop a growing regional operation based in Armidale.

This is a hands-on leadership position with responsibility for people, performance, productivity and operational delivery. You will oversee the day-to-day operation, ensuring teams are structured effectively, workloads are managed efficiently, KPIs are achieved and customers continue to receive a high standard of service.

We are open to candidates from a range of industries. Experience within construction, insurance, property or trade-based services would be advantageous, but it is not essential. More important is your ability to lead people, manage a busy operation and create a high-performing, accountable culture.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the day-to-day operations of the Armidale team, ensuring workloads, resources and priorities are effectively managed.
- Manage, mentor and develop team members, creating a positive, accountable and high-performance culture.
- Monitor operational performance against agreed KPIs, productivity targets and service standards.
- Identify areas for improvement and implement processes that increase efficiency, productivity and quality.
- Support the continued growth and development of the regional operation, including building team capability as demand increases.
- Ensure the right resources are allocated to workloads and operational requirements.
- Provide clear expectations, regular feedback and performance management across the team.
- Analyse operational data and performance trends to identify opportunities,



risks and areas requiring intervention.
- Work closely with senior leadership and other departments to ensure operational objectives align with broader business goals.
- Maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, contractors and other key stakeholders.
- Ensure operational issues and escalations are dealt with quickly and professionally.
- Drive continuous improvement across systems, processes, communication and service delivery.
- Maintain appropriate standards around compliance, safety, quality and company procedures.

About You

- You will be an experienced people and operations leader who enjoys taking ownership of an operation and improving the way it performs.
- You will ideally bring:
- Demonstrated experience in an Operations Manager, Branch Manager, Regional Manager, Service Manager or similar leadership position.
- Proven experience managing and developing teams.
- A strong understanding of KPIs, productivity, workflow management and operational performance.
- Experience holding teams accountable while maintaining a positive and supportive working culture.
- The ability to identify inefficiencies and implement practical operational improvements.
- Strong commercial awareness and an understanding of how operational decisions impact business performance.




- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Confidence working in a fast-paced environment with multiple competing priorities.
- A proactive, solutions-focused leadership style.
- Experience growing or scaling teams and operations would be highly regarded.

Experience within construction, insurance, property, facilities management, manufacturing, logistics, field services, trades or another operationally focused environment would be beneficial, but is not a requirement.
