We’re looking for a bicycle mechanic who likes working on bikes — someone who takes pride in a properly set-up derailleur, a quiet drivetrain and a wheel that stays true.

Baringa Bikes is an independent bike shop in Aura, and we’re growing. We’ve got a modern workshop, quality tools, electric lift stands and a steady stream of bikes coming through the door.

Now we need another good mechanic to join us.

There’s a good mix of work here — servicing, repairs, new bike builds, diagnostics, brakes, drivetrain work, wheel work and the occasional “what the heck is making that noise?” job. You’ll also get to deal with customers, so being able to explain what’s going on without talking complete bike-tech gibberish is a bonus.

You don’t necessarily need a piece of paper saying you’re a mechanic, but you must of had bike shop experience.

We’re more interested in whether you:

• Know your way around a up-to-date mountain, road, gravel or e-bike

• Can diagnose problems rather than just replace parts

• Care about doing a job properly

• Have good attention to detail

• Can work independently

• Are happy talking to customers when required





• Don’t need someone standing over you telling you what to do

Formal qualifications and industry experience are great, but skill, attitude and mechanical ability matter more to us.

We have built a workplace that people want to work in.

No weekend or public holiday work. Early afternoons finishing at 4.15pm to get in an afternoon ride. No ridiculous retail hours.

We’re open to full-time, part-time, or casual depending on the right person.

Baringa Bikes is independently owned, you won’t disappear into a giant corporate bike-shop machine.No hard sales or KPIs to worry about.

We are based in Aura right behind the new Home + Life centre, servicing a growing local cycling community for the last 3 years.

We sell, service and repair a wide range of bikes, including MTB, road, gravel, kids’ bikes and compliant e-bikes.

We’re serious about doing good work and looking after our customers, but like to be relaxed about everything else.
