Are you an experienced AI advisor who thrives at the intersection of strategy, stakeholder engagement, and emerging technology? This is your chance to shape how AI is adopted across a major Queensland government organisation.
THE ROLE
Talent Street is seeking an AI Portfolio & Engagement Advisor for a QLD state government client on a contract until September 2027, with possible extensions. Based in Brisbane, this is a pivotal role that bridges business needs and technical delivery — acting as the primary point of contact for business areas looking to identify, shape, and progress AI initiatives through governance and delivery pathways.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
Building relationships with business areas to uncover strategic AI prospects and facilitate discovery workshops and ideation sessions
Advising stakeholders on AI capabilities, solution approaches, and delivery pathways
Maintaining and managing the AI Initiatives Register and chance pipeline, including progress monitoring, risk tracking, and benefits management
Supporting portfolio prioritisation, demand management, and investment planning activities
Coordinating governance and assurance processes, including FAIRA assessments and engagement with security, privacy, architecture, and legal stakeholders
Preparing executive reports,
dashboards, and briefing materials for senior leadership and governance forums
Supporting AI literacy, capability uplift, and Communities of Practice across the organisation
Facilitating benefits planning, change readiness, and adoption activities with key stakeholder groups
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
Proven experience in business relationship management and stakeholder engagement
Strong background in portfolio and pipeline management within complex organisations
Solid business analysis and opportunity assessment skills, including value proposition and business case development
Experience navigating governance, assurance, and risk frameworks — ideally within government
Demonstrated ability to produce executive-level reporting and communications
Exposure to AI strategy, digital transformation, or innovation advisory roles
Excellent facilitation skills across diverse and senior stakeholder groups
NICE TO HAVE
Familiarity with Queensland government governance and assurance frameworks
Experience with FAIRA or similar AI ethics and risk assessment processes
Background in advantages realisation and organisational change management
