About the role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Cafe Assistant Manager to join our team at the Coolangatta Surf Club in Coolangatta, QLD. In this full-time salaried role, you will play a pivotal part in the day-to-day operations of our busy cafe, Board Short Barista assisting the Cafe Manager in ensuring efficient and exceptional customer service.

What you'll be doing
Assisting the Cafe Manager in overseeing all cafe operations, including staff rostering, stock control, and cash management.
Providing exceptional customer service and managing customer inquiries and complaints
Ensuring the cafe's high standards of cleanliness, food safety, and presentation are maintained
Providing hands-on support in the cafe, including barista duties, food preparation, and serving customers
Coaching and mentoring the cafe's team of Baristas and Cafe Assistants
Assisting with administrative tasks such as stock ordering, invoicing, and reporting

What we're looking for
Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar cafe assistant manager or supervisory role




Solid customer service skills and the ability to provide a welcoming and efficient cafe experience
Excellent barista skills and experience in food preparation
Demonstrated experience in staff management and coaching
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
Excellent time management and organisational skills
A passion for the hospitality industry and a commitment to delivering high-quality service
