The Australian International Islamic College (AIIC) is an independent co-educational Islamic school for students from Kindergarten to Year 12.

This is a Leadership position, akin to a Deputy Principal position, reporting directly to the Principal, with a focus on academic excellence, curriculum and pedagogical leadership and staff development.
The Role
This role of Secondary Coordinator(Leadership) is a pivotal role within the College, with responsibility over staff and students from Year 7-Year 12.
The position is based at our Gold Coast campus, but also has responsibility for the smaller Carrara campus.
The Secondary Coordinator(Leadership)
role is vital in ensuring Secondary students are afforded the best opportunity to achieve success, in the classroom and beyond.
The Secondary Coordinator(Leadership) is a role that works very closely with the Principal, as well as other Heads to ensure a seamless delivery of education and pastoral care services to our students, driven by a system approach.

The successful applicant will:
Hold current QCT full registration.
Hold a relevant recognised teaching degree with the capacity to teach a small load if required
Hold a postgraduate qualification in Leadership, Pedagogy or Management (advantageous)
Have extensive experience in Secondary Education
Possess current and demonstrated knowledge and capability working with the Australian Curriculum, QCAA and all compliance-related matters;
Have experience with the ATAR system for upper Secondary students
Have experience preparing students for NAPLAN and how to use this data to inform practice
Have the capability to lead staff through modelling, coaching and professional development;
Have experience with the timetabling of Secondary classes
Have an applied understanding of the QCE system
Possess an understanding of the VET sector,
and how it complements the ATAR system and how it can advantage students
Have a capacity and a willingness to use data to inform a systems approach to continuous improvement and classroom practices
Be strategic, self-motivated, creative, a willingness to accept responsibility and to work autonomously to achieve a goal and to meet deadlines
Have a demonstrated capacity to write, develop and implement policy
Understanding of Islamic teachings, how it relates to the practice of diverse Muslim cultures, challenges facing adolescent Muslims and to be culturally responsive and caring to children
Knowledge of current trends in education, with a particular focus on Islamic schools
Shortlisted candidates will be contacted and asked to prepare a portfolio to support their application.
This should include evidence of qualifications and experience, evidence of community engagement and support, as well as recent, applied evidence of the above criteria, including policy documentation, reports and similar to support the appointment.
