About the role
Compassion Companions is seeking dedicated Support Workers to join our team in Adelaide, SA ****.
This is a casual position that offers flexibility whilst making a meaningful difference in the lives of aged and disability support clients.
As a Support Worker, you will provide compassionate, person-centred care and assistance to vulnerable individuals, helping them maintain independence, dignity and quality of life.
This role is fundamental to our mission of delivering exceptional support services within the community.
What you'll be doing
Assisting clients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, grooming and dressing
Providing companionship and emotional support to foster meaningful connections and reduce isolation
Supporting clients with mobility and safe movement within their homes and community
Assisting with meal preparation, feeding and nutritional support as required
Helping clients with household tasks and maintaining a safe, clean living environment
Accompanying clients to medical appointments, social activities and community outings
Communicating clearly with clients, families and healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care
Maintaining accurate and timely records of client interactions and support provided
Following all health and safety protocols, duty of care requirements and organisational policies
Responding sensitively to clients' individual needs, preferences and cultural backgrounds
What we're looking for
Certificate III in Disability, Aged Care or equivalent qualification (or willingness to obtain)
Working With Children Check and/or Working With Vulnerable People Clearance (or ability to obtain)
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build rapport with vulnerable individuals
Empathy, patience and a genuine commitment to person-centred care
Physical capability to assist clients with mobility and daily activities
Reliability and punctuality,
particularly important when caring for dependent individuals
Problem-solving abilities and flexibility in responding to changing client needs
Ability to maintain confidentiality and respect client privacy and dignity
Current First Aid and CPR certification or willingness to obtain
Experience working in aged care, disability support or community services (preferred)
