This is your chance to join an early-stage Australian seed-funded start-up of 10 people, comfortably backed by $3.5M in funding from renowned VC (Venture Capital) firms, such as Black Nova, Antler and Main Sequence (CSIRO).
We're on a mission to solve challenges such as the:
$166bn housing crisis as new home constructions plunged to its lowest in a decade
Workforce shortage in the infrastructure construction $127bn industry
With industrial automation and on-site Quality Control.
We develop laser-augmented robotic vision systems that enable real-time 3D reconstruction.
Our flagship product "Ultra-Vision", is the rugged compact solution that brings laboratory-grade science to heavy industries.
The Team & Key Responsibilities
You'll be part of an R&D; team of ML/AI, Electronics, Mechanical, Firmware, Optical Engineers.
As a Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) you'll work on-site with customers in the goods / food manufacturing, mining and construction & infrastructure industries, across 15 operational sites, some in regional Australia.
In this hands-on role, you'll sell, install / integrate the prototypes in office, elicit customer needs and translate them into feature requests, while acting as the fastest feedback loop between the customer and the Product team.

Build rapport and become their Trusted Advisor
Opportunity & Objection Handling: identify new opportunities,
suggest solutions and articulate the benefits to technology-agnostic customers
Feedback Loop:Proactively surface any technical concerns and own technical responses, whilst taking accountability for following up on corrective requests
2. Bridge the gap between the lab prototype → real-world production
Discovery: uncover integration requirements, dependencies, security and compliance requirements
On-site Resolution & Demos: to ensure the prototype is production-ready and fit for a successful deployment, you often have to build custom practical adaptations & tooling on client sites.
Deliver compelling demos and walkthroughs
Be the eyes of Zabidou: identify friction, quality issues, product gaps, and edge cases from your field observation.
Report with precision and attention to detail.
Collaborate with Product and Engineering to align often messy real-world production processes to Zabidou's capabilities and customer requirements, while staying grounded in roadmap feasibility.
Key Skills & Experience:
You've freshly graduated from an Engineering degree, preferably inMechatronics / Robotics.
You bring:
Strong practical project experience
Strong team skills and calm execution under pressure (e.g., demonstrated excellence in sports, music/performance, high-stress kitchens, military-style orgs, etc.)
High motivation, bias to action, and pride in shipping real solutions that delight customers
