REDARC are looking for a strong team player and passionate talented engineer to join our team to work as aFirmware Design Engineerin a full time permanent capacity in our office in Lonsdale, SA.

About the role
The Firmware Design Engineer performs the design, simulation, prototyping, documentation, and testing of firmware for assemblies and/or sub-assemblies of REDARC Products.
Design and implementation of electronics power control algorithms.
Working with other engineers to determine hardware/firmware partitioning.
Designing to REDARC best-practice including version control, bug tracking, and documenting all deliverables with design decisions.
Using Agile development processes and tools (JIRA, Confluence, etc.).
Re-using proven modules where available and suitable
Simulating/prototyping to select/optimise topology, manufacturability, efficiency, quality, safety, protection, usability, testability, power dissipation, electromagnetic compatibility, and cost.
Facilitating frequent and timely reviews of designs and implementations.
Setting to work, testing, evaluating, and verifying performance of the implementation.
Ability to design and setup hardware test platforms, and execute integrated hardware, firmware and software system tests.
Designing to project plan, communicating effectively with product and project management to agree and document any changes in direction and/or timing.
Ensuring the implementation is verified against the specification and complies with relevant standards.




Updating product firmware to address errors, performance, or feature requests.
Developing & maintaining re-usable designs and/or test equipment to aid product development.
Participate in product and process improvement teams as required and in the internal auditing process required by ISO ****.
About you
More than 5+ years' experience in embedded/firmware development.
Having a bachelor degree or higher in electronics engineering, computer science or equivalent field.
Demonstrated experience in developing power electronics products in the 1 to **** Watt range.
Being familiar with Agile development processes and tools (e.g. JIRA, Confluence).
Hands-on experience with communication interfaces.
Familiar with electronics manufacturing processes.
Possessing clear written documentation and reporting skills.
Problem-solving attitude – methodical, analytical, and calm when troubleshooting complex issues.

Location
This role is fully based on site atLonsdale, SA ****.
While ongoing work-from-home arrangements are not offered, flexibility may be supported on an ad-hoc basis where operationally appropriate.
