The opportunity
An exciting opportunity is available for anAssociate or Senior Associateto join the Commonwealth Government Administrative Law & Litigation practice of a highly regarded national law firm.
Based inCanberra, Melbourne or Sydney, you will join a growing national team and work collaboratively with experienced Partners, senior lawyers and colleagues across multiple offices.
You will manage a wide-ranging caseload of administrative law and government litigation matters, including:
Merits and judicial review proceedings
Administrative law and Commonwealth Government litigation
Federal Circuit and Family Court and Federal Court proceedings
High Court matters
Drafting prospects advice and litigation strategies
Preparing evidence, submissions and other Court and Tribunal documents
Briefing and instructing Counsel
Managing matters and communicating directly with government clients
You will have the opportunity to takeday-to-day carriage of matters, develop your advocacy skills and build strong relationships with Commonwealth Government clients while receiving meaningful support and supervision from experienced senior practitioners.
About you
You will ideally have:
Experience inpublic law, administrative law, government litigation or a related litigation practice
Strong litigation and matter-management skills
Excellent drafting and advice-writing capabilities
An interest in appearing before Courts and Tribunals as a solicitor advocate
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
The ability to manage matters with increasing autonomy
A genuine interest in developing your career within private legal practice
Lawyers with strong transferable litigation experience and an interest in developing their career inCommonwealth Government and administrative laware also encouraged to apply.
