Job Description
Learning & Development Lead - First Nations Cultural Safety
n
Our client is a large values-focused Federal Government Agency seeking an experienced Learning & Development Lead - First Nations Cultural Safety (EL1 Level) to lead the design and implementation of cultural safety learning and workplace capability initiatives.
n
The role focuses on building workforce capability to improve access to disability services for First Nations peoples with disability.
n

ROLE DETAILS:
n Location: Melbourne or Geelong - VIC
n Contract: ASAP start to 31 December ****, with high likelihood of extension
n Hours: Full-time, 8:30am-5:00pm
n
Arrangement: Strongly hybrid, 3/2 split
n Rate: $****** per day + super
n Eligibility: Australian Citizen MANDATORY

n
ABOUT THE ROLE:
n You'll lead cultural safety learning and development initiatives that support workforce capability, First Nations engagement and improved service outcomes.
n
This includes leading learning program design, embedding cultural safety into capability strategies, supporting co-design and consultation, and providing strategic advice to senior stakeholders.
n
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
n
n
Lead the design, development and implementation of the Cultural Safety Learning Program and other workplace capability initiatives.
n
Provide high-level cultural safety learning, policy and strategic advice, including briefs, submissions and committee papers.
n
Oversee stakeholder engagement, co-design and consultation with internal teams,
First Nations peoples, communities, organisations and partners.
n
Represent the Agency and Branch in high-level meetings, working groups and committees.
n
Lead monitoring, evaluation and reporting of deliverables, milestones, risks and performance measures.
n
Provide strategic guidance to staff, manage workloads and support a positive, safe and accountable team culture.
n
Champion organisational and cultural change through responsive, strengths-based approaches.
n

SELECTION CRITERIA:
n
n
Demonstrated experience building trusted relationships with First Nations peoples, communities, organisations and leaders.
n
Robust instructional design, adult learning and training development experience.
n
Experience leading complex training, learning or workplace capability initiatives incorporating risk, governance and co-design principles.
n
Project/program management, stakeholder management, planning, monitoring and reporting capability.
n
Excellent written and verbal communication, including high-quality reports/briefs and representation in senior forums.
n
Ability to lead teams, set priorities, manage resources and deliver outcomes in a dynamic policy environment.
n
n
HIGHLY DESIRABLE:
n
n
Relevant qualifications in education, training, HR, public policy, social sciences, law, Indigenous studies or a related field.
n
Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE***** or equivalent).
n
Experience working with or within the NDIA, NIAA, Department of Health Disability and Ageing, or Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations.
