Experienced Surgical Medical Secretary – Part-Time

An chance is available for an experienced Surgical Medical Secretary to join an established specialist surgical practice on the Central Coast.
n
This is a permanent part-time position of approximately 8-10 hours per week, (can increase if busy) with flexibility around the days and hours worked. It would particularly suit an experienced medical secretary looking for a small regular role, school-hours work, or additional hours alongside another position.
n
$38–$42 per hour + super, depending on experience.

About the role
n
The position involves providing administrative support for a single surgical practice, including:
n
n
Coordinating surgical bookings and hospital admissions
n
Liaising with patients, hospitals, anaesthetists, GPs and other specialists
n
Managing patient correspondence, referrals and results
n
Medicare and private billing
n
Patient accounts and payments
n
Maintaining accurate patient records
n
General practice administration
n
n
New patient bookings and routine initial enquiries are largely managed separately by our remote administrative support,



allowing this position to focus primarily on the ongoing administration and surgical aspects of the practice.

About you
n
We are looking for someone who:
n
n
Has previous experience in specialist medical or surgical administration
n
Is highly organised, reliable and able to work independently
n
Has excellent communication skills and a professional, friendly manner with patients
n
Has strong attention to detail
n
Is comfortable liaising with hospitals and coordinating surgical bookings
n
Has experience with Medicare/private billing and medical correspondence
n
Is confident using Genie practice management software
n
n
Experience with Genie practice management software is highly desirable
n
