We are seeking a Senior Tax Accountant to join our established accounting and advisory practice in Sydney's St George region. This part-time position is ideal for an experienced public practice accountant seeking professional challenge and client responsibility while maintaining work-life balance.

With flexible scheduling options, this role can be worked as:
n
22.5 hours across 5 school-hour days
n
Hybrid working arrangements are available following successful completion of induction, onboarding and training in our systems, procedures and internal controls.
n
Anchor office days are Wednesdays and Thursdays.
n
Conveniently located close to public transport, our office provides an easy commute while offering the flexibility to work from home under our hybrid work arrangements.

About the Role
n
This is a senior-level position suited to an experienced accountant who enjoys combining technical expertise, client responsibility and mentoring.
n
You will:
n
n
Manage a portfolio of established business and individual clients
n
Review financial statements, tax returns and workpapers prepared by team members
n
Provide tax and business advisory services to clients
n
Answer technical taxation and accounting queries from junior and intermediate accountants
n
Ensure high-quality compliance outcomes and adherence to professional standards
n
Assist with tax planning strategies and business structuring matters
n
Liaise with the ATO and other regulatory bodies as required
n
Support continuous improvement of firm processes and quality control procedures
n
n

What We're Looking For
n
You will ideally possess:
n
n
Minimum 5 years' experience in Australian public practice
n
Strong technical taxation and compliance knowledge
n
Experience reviewing compliance work and providing quality control oversight
n
Ability to manage client relationships independently
n
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
n
A collaborative mentoring approach and willingness to support junior team members
n
Experience with Access Handisoft and cloud-based accounting software (preferred)
n
