Project Engineer - Road Asset Maintenance

About the Role
n
We're recruiting a Project Engineer to join a specialist road infrastructure maintenance contractor operating under a long-term government performance contract. This is a hands-on role covering the full lifecycle of maintenance and minor works from methodology development and estimating through to site delivery across road, structural, corridor, tunnel and ITS assets.

You'll work closely with the delivery team to shape how maintenance and project works are planned, priced and executed, with regular exposure to site and direct oversight of works in progress.

Key Responsibilities
n

Develop methodology and delivery plans for maintenance, tactical and special project works
n
Prepare full works estimates and contribute to tender documentation
n
Identify and implement efficiency improvements across maintenance and field delivery
n
Support bid strategy development
n
Oversee site works and
contractor/subcontractor
performance to ensure delivery meets specification, budget and timeline
n
Monitor progress, cost, safety and environmental performance, reporting on forecast variances
n
Ensure all safety,



quality, environmental and community requirements are met across works delivery
n

About You
n
n
Tertiary qualification in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical or Electrical), Business, Commerce or related discipline
n
5+ years' experience in a similar project engineering role
n
Experience in road asset maintenance, road infrastructure or a comparable live network environment.
n
Solid understanding of planning and scheduling functions, with good command of MS Project or similar
n
Familiarity with the commercial, contractual and financial aspects of infrastructure delivery
n
Experience setting up project teams and site establishment for multidiscipline works
n
Comfortable working across office and site environments
n
