Surgical Assistant — Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery

Brisbane | 3 days per week | Casual, $80–$120/hour

A Brisbane-based plastic reconstructive is seeking a motivated surgical assistant to work alongside the surgeon across a varied operating list.

The role
n

$80–$120 per hour, based on skill level and training
n
Theatre-based assisting across plastic, reconstructive and hand surgery cases
n
n
What you'll do
n
n
Assist intraoperatively — retraction, exposure, tissue handling, instrument work
n
Sterile preparation and draping
n
Independent suturing and wound closure
n
Maintain sterile technique and theatre flow throughout the list
n
n
What we're looking for
n
n
Medical or nursing background (essential)
n
Demonstrated surgical assisting experience
n
Confident sewing independently
n
Flexible with scheduling and adaptable to list changes
n
Motivated, reliable, and genuinely interested in surgical work
n
n
Excellent prospect for someone wanting consistent theatre exposure in a high-quality private setting, with scope to build skills over time.
