Due to continued growth and the commencement of a new major fleet contracts, Stevens Fleet Service is looking for an experienced Heavy Vehicle Mechanic – Trucks & Trailers to join our growing Altona North workshop.
n

We are a busy independent heavy vehicle workshop working on a wide variety of trucks, prime movers and trailers for some of Melbourne's major transport and fleet operators.
n
We're happy to hear from mechanics who specialise in trucks, trailers, or both.

THE ROLE
n
Depending on your experience, your work may include:
n
n
Servicing and preventative maintenance on trucks and trailers
n
Heavy vehicle mechanical repairs
n
Brake repairs, relines, drums, S-cams and slack adjusters
n
Suspension repairs, airbags, bushes and shock absorbers
n
Wheel bearings, hubs and seals
n
Air system and air leak repairs
n
ABS/EBS fault finding
n
Electrical and lighting repairs
n
Clutch, driveline and general mechanical repairs
n
Diagnostic fault finding
n
Roadworthy and defect rectification
n
General truck and trailer maintenance
n

There is plenty of variety – you won't be stuck doing the same job every day.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
n
Ideally you will have:
n
n
Heavy Vehicle / Diesel Mechanic trade qualification OR strong proven experience working on heavy vehicle trailers
n
Experience with trucks, trailers or heavy transport equipmentGood mechanical and fault-finding ability
n
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
n
Good workmanship and attention to detail
n
Current driver's licence
n
A reliable attitude and willingness to get the job done properly
n
n
Trailer mechanics are strongly encouraged to apply. If your background is mainly trailer servicing, brakes, suspension, wheel ends and air systems, we would like to hear from you.
