Job Description
Youth and Children's Programs Officer (Casual)

$***** per hour (inclusive of a 25% casual loading) plus Super

Looking for casual work where you can make a real difference? Join our Youth and Children's Programs team and help deliver fun, safe and inclusive activities for children, young people and families across Boroondara.
n
You'll work in places like Kew Traffic School, the Boroondara Youth Hub and local community spaces, supporting programs that help young people learn, connect and get involved.
n
Shifts are available across a range of programs, events and community activities throughout the year, with opportunities during weekdays, evenings, school holidays and occasional weekends.
n
About the role
n
In this role, you'll help plan and run educational, recreational and community activities that are engaging, accessible and child safe.
n
You'll work with Council teams, schools, community groups, families and local services to create positive experiences and connect people with programs and support.
n
About you
n
You're friendly, reliable and interested in working with children and young people. You may have experience through study, work, volunteering, teaching, sport, camps, childcare, youth programs or community activities.
n
You communicate well, stay organised and enjoy working in a team. You're committed to inclusion, child safety and respectful behaviour, and can work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and school holidays when needed.

Key responsibilities
n

Help set up,
deliver and pack down activities, programs and events for children, young people and families.
n
Welcome participants and support children, young people and families to engage in programs, activities and opportunities. Build positive relationships with young people, families, schools, community organisations and Council staff.
n
Follow Council procedures and support a safe, inclusive and respectful environment for everyone.
n
n

Employment Requirements
n
n
Experience, study or a demonstrated interest in working with children, young people, families or community programs.
n
Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and school holiday periods when required.
n
Applicants must have the right to work in Australia.
n
Preferred applicants will be required to undergo a National Police Record Check and hold a valid Working with Children Clearance.
n
