The Role
n
As SMSF Senior Accountant, you will work closely with the firm's SMSF leaders to deliver accurate,



timely and high-quality SMSF work for a varied client base.
n
Your responsibilities will include:
n
n
Reviewing SMSF financial statements, tax returns and compliance work
n
Managing SMSF compliance obligations across your portfolio
n
Reviewing work prepared by offshore accountants based in the Philippines
n
Mentoring and supporting offshore team members with technical questions, workflow and quality standards
n
Liaising with auditors and responding to audit queries
n
Working directly with clients and internal stakeholders
n
Acting as a key conduit between the offshore SMSF team and senior internal stakeholders
n
Attending to BAS, tax returns and related SMSF compliance matters
n
Supporting superannuation tax planning and compliance-related advice
n
Helping ensure client work is delivered accurately, confidently and on time
n
Contributing to continuous improvement across SMSF systems, processes and workflows
n
Participating in training and, where appropriate, presenting training to team members
n
Supporting a collaborative team environment focused on quality, responsiveness and care
n
n
This role is not just production-focused. You will have meaningful review responsibility, regular communication with stakeholders and scope to help improve how the SMSF team operates.

What You'll Bring
n
n
At least 4 years of Australian SMSF accounting experience
n
Current SMSF Senior Accountant level experience
n




BGL 360 experience is essential
n
Relevant tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Commerce or similar
n
Experience reviewing SMSF financial statements and tax returns
n
Experience supporting or mentoring junior team members
n
Confidence managing SMSF compliance obligations
n
Strong understanding of SMSF tax and compliance requirements
n
Ability to liaise with auditors, clients and internal stakeholders
n
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
n
Clear written and verbal communication skills
n
Organised, steady and accountable working style
n
n
