A leading international construction contractor is seeking an experienced Head of Cost Planning to lead its Australian cost planning & estimating function.

With a rapidly expanding presence in Australia and a robust pipeline of complex projects, this is a unique opportunity for an ambitious cost planning professional to step into a genuine national leadership role.

This position would suit an experienced Estimating Manager, Cost Planning Manager, Commercial Manager or Head of Cost Planning looking to take ownership of a growing function and play a key role in shaping the commercial success of the business across Australia.

The Opportunity
n
Based in Sydney, you will lead the cost planning function nationally, working closely with pre-construction, design, delivery and executive leadership teams.
n
You will be responsible for delivering cost planning processes,



providing strategic commercial advice and supporting the successful delivery of major projects from early feasibility through to construction.
n
Key Responsibilities
n
n
Lead and grow the national cost planning capability.
n
Prepare and review concept estimates, feasibility studies and detailed cost plans.
n
Develop benchmarking and cost database systems.
n
Provide commercial advice throughout pre-construction and project delivery.
n
Work closely with clients, consultants and supply chain partners during bid and procurement stages.
n
Mentor and develop a growing cost planning team.
n
Support business development and major tender submissions.
n
n
About You
n
You'll be an experienced cost planning professional with strong leadership capability and a passion for delivering commercially successful projects.
n
Ideally you will have:
n
n
Extensive Australian construction cost planning or quantity surveying experience.
n
Experience leading teams or managing a cost planning function.
n
Strong knowledge of design development, procurement and pre-construction.
n
Experience delivering major commercial, industrial, data centre, manufacturing or mission-critical projects.
n
Excellent stakeholder management and client-facing skills.
n
A proactive, entrepreneurial approach with the ability to build and influence teams.
