UnitingCare Lithgow is seeking Direct Care Workers to join our teams in Lithgow and Bathurst.

We are currently recruiting casual Direct Care Workers, with a genuine opportunity to transition into permanent employment for the right people.

Our Direct Care Workers provide high-quality, person-centred support across our Disability and Aged Care services. Depending on the needs of the people you support, you may work in their homes, in-centre programs or within the community.
n
Positions are available in both locations. When applying, please state whether you are applying for the Lithgow position or the Bathurst position.
n
About the role
n
As a Direct Care Worker, you will:
n
Provide respectful and practical support based on each client's individual care plan
n
Assist with personal care, daily living activities and community participation
n
Support clients with different needs, preferences and levels of independence
n
Communicate effectively with clients, families, carers, supervisors and other team members
n
Complete progress notes, reports and other required documentation accurately and on time
n
Record services provided using CareLink and other UCL systems
n




Work safely and in accordance with UCL policies, procedures and care requirements
n
Contribute positively to a supportive and respectful team environment
n
The current role profiles include providing in-home and in-centre services, supporting clients with varying needs, completing required reports and accurately recording services in CareLink.

About you
n
We are looking for someone who has:
n
A caring, patient and respectful approach
n
Good communication and relationship-building skills
n
The ability to work independently and as part of a team
n
The ability to provide personal care and practical assistance with limited supervision
n
Positive organisation and basic written documentation skills
n
Confidence using Microsoft 365, mobile devices and client management systems
n
An understanding of person-centred support within Disability or Aged Care services
n
A Certificate III in Individual Support, Disability, Ageing, Community Services or a similar qualification would be highly regarded.
n
Previous experience in Disability or Aged Care services, and experience using CareLink, would also be an advantage. The current role profiles list a relevant Certificate III as preferable and CareLink experience as desirable.
n
The successful applicants will need:

A current Class C NSW driver's licence
n
Access to a registered and comprehensively insured vehicle
n
Access to a mobile phone
n
A current First Aid Certificate
n
A satisfactory Police Check
n
A Working with Children Check
n
An NDIS Worker Screening Check
