Job Description
Rydges Esplanade Resort Cairns You will be responsible for all aspects of leisure, wholesale, government, conference, events, and corporate sales operations.
The emphasis is on overseeing and managing all aspects of the Hotel's sales activities.
To contribute to the selling strategy of the Hotel with a view to maximising all revenues by identifying innovative ways to convert business, and developing strong relationships with clients.

Task & responsibilities Your job tasks would be, but not limit to:
To maximise all revenue opportunities
To review business plans, identify gaps and ensure proactive measures are taken to fill capacity and meet set targets
To understand competition and market trends and develop and implement strategies to ensure the Hotel is competitive in every opportunity
Host site inspections with potential clients as well as lunch/dinner/coffee with potential clients
In conjunction with the sales teams identify new sources/leads all segments
To supervise the Sales Executives to ensure effective performance and high-quality service to clients and proactive selling of the Hotel's products
To supervise and assist in preparing quotes, issuing contracts, communications, database input and filing
To work effectively in building strong relationships with colleagues both externally and internally
To take a proactive approach to the sale of the Hotel's facilities ensuring any opportunities for up selling is capitalised upon
To facilitate and attend networking events, famils, site inspections, conferences and internal showcase events
To be onsite to assist with the coordination and running of special events as required
To coordinate and liaise with other Hotel departments to ensure an efficient flow of communication
To organise, facilitate and attend meetings with management, other Hotel departments or team members as required
To liaise closely and effectively communicated with the
General Manager and other departments in the Hotel to ensure smooth operation and communication of client's needs and requirements
To communicate any changes or new packages/promotions to team members and ensure they are offered to prospective clients in a timely manner
To be conversant with the products, packages and capacities of the hotel in order to be able to provide professional advice and guidance to prospective clients
To ensure event contract terms and conditions are implemented
Ensure all information is accurately entered into the EVT software programs including IVvy, Smartspace, CRM tools and others Ensure databases are maintained and kept up-to-date
To ensure all enquiries are responded to within 24 hours and prompt follow up occurs after each event
Conduct telesales on a weekly basis – warm; cold and new business
Any other reasonable duties and tasks as directed by the
General Manager
Due to the nature of the business, working hours may need to be adjusted as required
Maintain regular transparent lines of communication with the
General Manager regarding current work being undertaken and future initiatives
Manage all printed and online advertising and marketing including campaigns, artwork and promotions
Plan long term strategies such as Christmas, Mother's Day and Valentine's Day
Create, evaluate and deliver strong event products and packages
Participate in weekly sales & marketing meetings to provide a synopsis of the previous week's activities and forthcoming events and opportunities to target
Create and input for proposed Sales & Marketing plans and promotions
Manage Social Media including Facebook and Instagram
Plan, analyse and identify trends
Develop and monitor campaign budgets
Prepare accurate reports on marketing campaign's overall performance
Evaluate important metrics that affect website traffic, social media engagement and target audiences
Work with the team to brainstorm new and creative growth strategies
Oversee and manage all marketing projects Qualification & experience Bachelor degree or higher 1 year of full-time experience in hotel sales management role Proven track record in hotel or hospitality sales, ideally across leisure, corporate, and MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences, events) segments Experience managing corporate accounts, travel trade/wholesale partners, and RFP or tender processes Familiarity with hotel sales/CRM and PMS systems Prior experience in North Queensland or a similar leisure/tourism market (desirable) Strong relationship-building and negotiation skills with corporate clients and agencies Commercial acumen — rate strategy, forecasting, and budgeting alongside revenue management Self-motivated, able to work autonomously and travel for client visits Strong written and verbal communication for proposals, contracts, and reporting
