Our client is a well-established Australian manufacturer in the fenestration industry. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Senior Product Design Engineer to join their team in Brisbane.
n
The Senior Product Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:
n
n
Proven experience within the fenestration industry is essential
n
5+ years' experience in Product Design, Industrial Design or Mechanical Design Engineering
n
Strong knowledge of aluminium window and door systems, glazing products, curtain walls, skylights or related building products
n
Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, Industrial Design or a related discipline
n
Advanced 3D CAD skills (SolidWorks, Inventor, Creo or similar)
n
Excellent understanding of manufacturing processes, including aluminium extrusion, fabrication and assembly
n
Experience leading products through the complete development lifecycle from concept through to manufacture
n
Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across engineering, operations and commercial teams
n
A proactive mindset with a passion for innovation and continuous improvement
n

The Senior Product Design Engineer role will involve:
n

Leading the design and development of innovative products from concept through to production
n
Driving new product development projects
n
Producing detailed 3D CAD models, technical drawings and engineering documentation
n
Working closely with manufacturing teams to optimise designs for efficient production and assembly
n
Supporting product testing, validation and compliance activities
n
Managing engineering changes, product improvements and technical documentation, including Bills of Materials (BOMs)
n
Collaborating with suppliers to source and develop recent components and materials
n
Providing technical guidance and mentoring junior engineers where appropriate
n
Working alongside cross-functional teams including Operations, Quality, Procurement and Sales to successfully deliver new products
n
Contributing to the company's ongoing product development strategy and continuous improvement initiatives
n
n
