Mechanical Fitter – Industrial Workshop
n Permanent Full-Time | Brisbane | Day Shift | $48–$55ph + Super

About the Opportunity We are currently recruiting an experienced Mechanical Fitter for a permanent opportunity with a well-established industrial engineering and repair business based in Brisbane.
n
This is a hands‐on workshop role involving the disassembly, overhaul, refurbishment and reassembly of large industrial electrical and mechanical equipment.
n
Previous transformer experience is not essential. We are looking for a trade-qualified Mechanical Fitter with strong mechanical aptitude, solid workshop experience and the ability to learn specialist equipment.
n
The Role Your responsibilities will include:
n
Mechanical disassembly and reassembly of industrial equipment
n
Stripping and assessing components
n
Inspecting components for wear and damage
n
Identifying components requiring repair or replacement
n
Preparing equipment and components for reassembly
n
Gasket removal, manufacture and replacement
n
Working with bearings, seals, fasteners and mechanical assemblies
n
Cleaning and preparing components
n
Using hand, power and workshop tooling
n
Reading mechanical drawings and work instructions
n
Measuring and inspecting components
n
Assisting with light to heavy fabrication and mechanical assembly
n
Using overhead cranes and lifting equipment where qualified
n
Completing quality checks throughout the repair process
n
Working alongside electrical and mechanical trades
n
Maintaining a safe,



clean and organised workshop
n
About You
n
To be considered, you will need:
n
Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade or equivalent
n
Previous experience as a Mechanical Fitter
n
Strong mechanical aptitude
n
Experience dismantling, repairing and rebuilding industrial equipment
n
Ability to read mechanical drawings and specifications
n
Good fault‐finding and problem‐solving skills
n
Strong attention to detail
n
Ability to work independently and within a team
n
Commitment to safety and quality
n
Current driver's licence and reliable transport
n
Experience with pumps, motors, gearboxes, rotating equipment, heavy machinery, OEM repairs or industrial equipment rebuilds would be highly regarded.
n
Transformer experience is advantageous but not required, with training available for the right Mechanical Fitter.
n
