Requirements
n Role Purpose
n
The Automation Specialist will design, build, test, and implement automated workflows and integrations supporting the future-state Local Administrator Access operating model.
n
Working alongside the Technical Business Analyst, the role will focus on replacing manual processes with scalable automation, improving user experience, and delivering sustainable operational efficiencies.
n
Automate request intake, validation, approval, training checks reporting, and removal flags.
n
Key Responsibilities
n
Workflow Automation
n
n
Design and implement automated request, approval, and fulfilment workflows.
n
Configure workflow orchestration and approval routing.
n
Automate notifications, escalations, exception handling, and attestation activities.
n
Streamline manual operational activities through workflow automation.
n
Automate Local Admin request, validation, approval, fulfilment, monitoring, and removal where possible.
n
Uplift Jira / SailPoint workflows to enable faster and more automated responses.
n
n
Systems Integration
n
n
Build integrations between request management, identity, endpoint management, and approval platforms.
n
Leverage APIs, connectors, and enterprise automation tooling.
n
Enable data exchange across Cyber, EUX, and Identity systems.
n
Support automation of access validation, reporting, and governance activities.
n
n
Technical Solution Delivery
n
n
Translate business requirements into technical workflow solutions.




n
Develop automation standards, reusable components, and implementation patterns.
n
Conduct testing, defect resolution, and deployment activities.
n
Support transition into operational support.
n
n
User Experience Improvement
n
n
Simplify request submission and fulfilment journeys.
n
Reduce manual touchpoints and approval delays.
n
Improve transparency and visibility of request status.
n
Design self-service capabilities where appropriate.
n
n
Reporting and Continuous Improvement
n
n
Develop operational dashboards and automation reporting.
n
Measure workflow performance and automation effectiveness.
n
Identify further automation opportunities across adjacent processes.
n
Provide recommendations for ongoing optimisation.
n
n
Success Measures
n

End-to-end workflow automation implemented.
n
Manual processing effort significantly reduced.
n
Approval turnaround times improved.
n
Automated governance and reporting established.
n
Sustainable support model implemented.

Joint Accountabilities

Both resources will:

Work as a paired delivery team.
n
Participate in discovery and design workshops.
n
Engage with Cyber, EUX, Identity, and Engineering stakeholders.
n
Support delivery of risk remediation commitments.
n
Promote standardisation, automation, and simplification.
n
Identify opportunities to improve employee experience while reducing security risk.
n
