About the Role
We are currently seeking an Asset Condition Inspector to join our Assets Team on permanent full-time basis.
The primary purpose of the role is to support our asset maintenance and inspection programs by conducting property condition inspections, maintaining accurate asset information and preparing timely inspection reports.
The position also supports planned, responsive and cyclical maintenance activities across our housing portfolio.
This role combines the variety of site-based inspections with the satisfaction of seeing your observations translated into real improvements for homes and communities.
Key responsibilities include:
Conduct residential property condition inspections, including general condition assessments, vacancy inspections, new tenancy commencement inspections and maintenance-related inspections.
Identify maintenance requirements, building defects, safety concerns and general condition issues across residential properties, fixtures, fittings and external areas.
Record inspection outcomes accurately using Unity's systems, templates and asset management processes.
Prepare clear inspection reports outlining identified issues, observations and required follow-up actions.
Work collaboratively with internal teams, contractors and service providers to support effective property maintenance and positive tenant outcomes.

This role is based at the designated office, with a requirement to work across Unity sites.
A current full driver's licence is required.
About You
You have a genuine interest in property, maintenance, construction, building inspection or asset management and enjoy understanding how homes and buildings work.
Whether your experience comes from study, trades, property, construction or a related field, you're keen to apply your technical knowledge in a practical role that makes a real difference.
You bring:
An interest in property maintenance, building condition, construction, repairs or asset management.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to accurately document inspection findings, reports and property information.
The ability to identify maintenance requirements, defects and general property condition issues.
Strong organisational skills and the flexibility to adapt to changing priorities while managing inspections, competing demands and deadlines.
Well-developed written communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear and accurate reports.
A people-focused approach and the ability to build positive relationships with tenants, contractors and internal stakeholders.
