Sydney | 6-Month Contract | Hybrid (3 days onsite)

We're partnering with a leading international financial services organisation undertaking a significant enterprise application transition and rationalisation program across multiple APAC regions.
n
This is not a traditional transformation BA role focused on customer-facing digital products. Instead, you'll work at the intersection of capital markets operations, enterprise applications, SQL-driven analysis, and stakeholder coordination.
n
You'll join a small, high-performing technology and operations team responsible for transitioning a large portfolio of applications and operational processes into specialist technology teams.
n
You'll be expected to investigate, document, analyse, recommend, and drive outcomes, rather than simply gather requirements.
n
Business Analyst Key Responsibilities:
n
n
Gather and translate business requirements into clear technical requirements and user stories
n
Work closely with developers to clarify functional and data-related impacts
n
Support SQL and data-impact analysis for application and schema changes
n
Coordinate transition and handover activities with receiving technology teams
n
Engage stakeholders across Operations, Treasury, Risk, Finance, and other capital markets functions
n




Produce practical recommendations and drive workstreams through to completion
n
n
Business Analyst Key Requirements:
n
n
Solid Business Analysis experience within investment banking, capital markets, custody, treasury, settlements, regulatory, or middle/back-office environments
n
Ability to write and understand SQL queries
n
Experience working with enterprise applications rather than only digital/web products
n
Strong analytical and documentation skills
n
Ability to manage ambiguity and work independently
n
Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
n
n
Desirable:
n
n
Exposure to Python or scripting environments
(reading/understanding
rather than hands-on development)
n
Experience with application migration, rationalisation, decommissioning, or support transition programs
n
Product Owner or hybrid BA/PO experience
n
n
Working Arrangements:
n
n
Sydney-based
n
Hybrid model with minimum 3 days in the office
n
Occasional collaboration with Singapore and Hong Kong stakeholders, so some flexibility around APAC hours is helpful
n
n
Interviews will be conducted from W/C 17th August so if you're a technical BA from a capital markets or investment banking operations environment who enjoys owning workstreams end-to-end.
