WJ Recruitment is seeking an experienced Maintenance Fitter / Supervisor for a permanent position with a well-established industrial business based primarily in Mount Cotton.
n
This is a genuine hands-on leadership role. You'll still be on the tools while taking responsibility for a small maintenance team and helping coordinate maintenance across multiple operational sites.
n
The role is primarily based in Mount Cotton, with regular travel to three additional sites across Brisbane and the Gold Coast. A company ute and fuel card are provided.

The role
n
You'll take a hands-on approach to maintaining fixed and mobile plant while coordinating the day-to-day maintenance requirements across the sites.
n
Your responsibilities will include:
n
n
Hands-on mechanical maintenance and repairs
n
Supervising and supporting a small team of Maintenance Fitters (2-3)
n
Maintenance of crushers, screens and conveyors
n
Working across fixed and mobile plant
n




Maintenance of equipment including loaders and excavators
n
Fault finding and breakdown repairs
n
Preventative and scheduled maintenance
n
Planning and prioritising maintenance works
n
Coordinating shutdown and repair activities
n
Liaising with Site Managers and operational teams
n
Maintenance administration and reporting
n
Assisting with maintenance budgets and forecasting
n
Driving plant reliability and reducing downtime
n
n
What we're looking for
n
We're ideally looking for a trade-qualified Mechanical Fitter with experience across heavy industrial, quarrying, recycling, crushing/screening or similar environments.
n
You'll bring:
n
n
Mechanical Fitter trade qualification
n
Strong mechanical maintenance and fault-finding experience
n
Fixed and/or mobile plant experience
n
Crushing and screening experience highly regarded
n
Experience with conveyors and heavy plant
n
Good communication and organisational skills
n
Ability to prioritise breakdowns and planned maintenance
n
Current driver's licence
n
Ability to travel between Brisbane and Gold Coast sites
n
n
Ready to step into supervision?
n
You don't necessarily need to already hold a Supervisor title.
n
We're equally interested in experienced Senior Fitters or Leading Hands who have strong technical knowledge, communicate well and are ready to take the next step into a leadership position.
n
You'll still be hands‐on, so we're looking for someone who can lead from the front rather than supervise from behind a desk.
