About Bankstown Football

Bankstown District Amateur Football Association (BDAFA) supports a vibrant football community across the Bankstown region, working closely with clubs, players, coaches, referees and volunteers to deliver quality football competitions and participation opportunities.
n
As part of an exciting organisational transition and growth strategy, BDAFA is creating a new Referee Services & Development Coordinator position to strengthen referee recruitment, education, development and retention across the district.
n
About the Role
n
This is much more than a referee appointments role.
n
Bankstown Football is seeking a motivated and passionate football person to coordinate referee services while helping shape the future of referee development within the district.
n
Working closely with the Bankstown District Referees Branch (BDR), the successful candidate will lead referee recruitment initiatives, support referee education programs, coordinate appointments and help establish a sustainable referee development framework.
n
The role will also establish and coordinate a referee development team comprising referee coaches, mentors and assessors to support referees at all stages of their journey.
n
The position includes a combination of weekday administration, evening training sessions and weekend football support.
n
Key Responsibilities
n
Referee Services
n
n
Coordinate referee appointments across Bankstown Football competitions.
n
Manage referee availability and appointment changes.
n
Monitor referee coverage requirements.
n
Coordinate finals and special event appointments.
n
n
Recruitment & Growth
n
n
Develop and implement referee recruitment programs.
n
Engage with clubs and schools to attract new referees.
n
Promote female referee participation.
n
Support junior referee recruitment initiatives.
n
n
Education & Development
n
n
Deliver referee education and development activities.
n
Support the Bankstown District Referees Branch in delivering training programs.
n
Coordinate monthly referee development sessions.
n
Assist with Level 4 Referee Courses and accreditation pathways.
n
Develop resources and educational opportunities for referees.
n
n
Referee Development Team
n
n
Establish and coordinate a team of referee coaches, mentors and assessors.
n
Support and develop referee mentors.
n
Coordinate assessment and feedback systems.
n
Create referee progression pathways.
n
n
Welfare & Retention
n
n
Support referees.
n
Promote referee wellbeing and retention initiatives.
n
Foster a positive referee culture.
n
Build strong relationships between clubs, referees and the referee community.
n
n
About You
n
We are looking for someone who:
n
n
Has a passion for football and community sport.
n
Has experience as a referee, referee coach, assessor or football administrator.
n
Possesses solid communication and organisational skills.
n
Can build positive relationships with volunteers, clubs and stakeholders.
n
Is capable of working independently and taking initiative.
n
Has experience coordinating programs, appointments or development activities.
n
Has strong computer skills and attention to detail.
n
Accredited football referee.
n
Referee coaching or assessing experience.
n
Experience delivering education or training programs.
n
Knowledge of DRIBL, Play Football and football administration systems.
n
Experience working within a referee branch or sporting association.
n
