We are seeking an experienced Sales Manager for a 12-month fixed-term contract to cover a period of extended leave.
n
The Sales Manager is a hands-on, customer-facing sales professional responsible for developing new business opportunities, growing existing accounts, and driving revenue across Defence, Law Enforcement, and related markets.
n
This role suits an experienced salesperson who enjoys building relationships, managing opportunities from first contact through to order fulfilment, and maintaining a disciplined approach to customer engagement, follow-up, and pipeline management.
n
The successful candidate will be commercially astute, self-driven, reliable in execution, and comfortable learning and working within established sales systems and processes.
n
Key Responsibilities
n
Sales and Business Development
n
n
Proactively identify, develop, and convert new business opportunities.
n
Build and manage a healthy sales pipeline through consistent prospecting, customer engagement, and follow-up.
n
Prepare and manage quotations, proposals, and sales documentation.
n
Consult with customers to understand operational requirements and recommend suitable solutions.
n
Maintain regular contact with clients throughout the sales cycle to maximise conversion opportunities and customer satisfaction.
n
Take ownership of opportunities and ensure timely progression from initial enquiry through to order placement and delivery.
n

Client Relationship Management
n
n
Develop and maintain strong long-term relationships with customers across Defence, Law Enforcement, and other relevant sectors.
n
Act as a trusted point of contact by providing responsive service, practical advice, and reliable follow-through.
n
Proactively seek customer feedback and identify opportunities to expand existing relationships.
n
Maintain a thorough understanding of customer needs, priorities, and upcoming projects.
n

Market and Industry Knowledge
n
n
Maintain a strong understanding of Spearpoint's products, suppliers, and capabilities.
n
Stay informed on market developments, major projects, acquisitions, emerging technologies, and industry trends.
n
Maintain awareness of competitor activities and alternative solutions available in the market.
n
Identify innovations and capabilities globally that may provide value to customers.
n

Vendor and Supplier Management
n
n
Build, maintain, and strengthen relationships with key vendors and suppliers.
n
Identify and evaluate potential new suppliers that align with business objectives and customer requirements.
n
Develop a thorough understanding of vendor capabilities, product offerings, and strategic priorities.
n
Maintain accountability for designated vendor relationships and support growth opportunities with those partners.
n

Product and Commercial Support
n
n
Source, procure, and maintain relevant product samples and demonstration equipment.
n
Develop and maintain broad product knowledge across designated suppliers and product categories.
n
Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure customer requirements are understood and delivered effectively.
n

n
Experience selling into Defence, Law Enforcement, Government, industrial, technical, or related sectors will be highly regarded.
