About the role
n
The Royal Melbourne Hospital (RMH) is seeking a Grade 2 Biomedical Engineer to join our Perioperative Services team. This role plays a key part in ensuring the safe, reliable, and effective operation of medical equipment across our perioperative areas, including the Main Operating Suite, 3 West Day Procedure Unit, and Central Sterile Services Department (CSSD).

Working closely with clinical and operational teams, you will provide biomedical engineering expertise in the maintenance, management, and procurement of medical equipment, supporting the delivery of high-quality patient care and safe clinical outcomes across RMH's perioperative services.

Key Accountabilities
n
n
Support preventative and corrective maintenance schedules for perioperative medical equipment.
n
Manage equipment contracts and asset registers in collaboration with the Equipment and contract Biomedical Manager.
n
Support procurement processes, equipment trials, and business case development.
n
Act as a key liaison between Clinical Teams, Procurement, Supply, and Engineering.

About You
n
n
Bachelor of Engineering (Biomedical) or equivalent qualification.
n
Experience in biomedical equipment management within a perioperative or acute hospital setting.
n
Strong knowledge of Australian Standards and medical equipment compliance.
n
Minimum of 4-5 years experience in public hospital setting
n
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
n
Eligible for Engineers Australia membership.
n
Salary range of $79,499 - $91,700, depending on skills and experience
